The future of this little ragged child who has the sweetest expression of all the children when they are ashamed of the prying eyes of strangers, especially if they are of one color and a smell of Dives, will surely be different from today. Ethiopia at the lives of its energy history .. a mega plant which will produce 1800MW of hydropower for power, able to meet the needs of part of Egypt, Kenya, Sudan and Yemen. And this child will one day be an engineer, bent behind a turbine and an alternator. The poor country, hunger and shortages of maize, will sell the white gold to those who have the black gold, it seems like a dream? But this child has dirty feet resting on a ground that emotion is the same ground trod Homo Erectus, the first area inhabited by primitive men, the first piece of humanity. The Omo Valley is in fact the most ancient valley of human history (I wonder if it's the same derivation "homo-man") and if this baby and its leaders decide to energy development, will sign the end of the valley hopelessly compromised by a artificial reservoir of 150Km2, precluding the possibility of further discoveries and return man in the history of their evolution. A terrible choice, which is played between the distant past and the future recently, between the melancholy smile today and that perhaps less sad tomorrow.
