Square Redevelopment Don Musa Garbatola (part 2) On the blog

2. The square Don Musa: character and monuments

"Designed in close collaboration with the buildings of the rural [...], porches, barns, cellars, barns, stables, farms, the colombaje, l ' home of the farmer and the farmer and the de 'yokels', the farm-house system can be regarded as a typically Milanese. One characteristic of the farm house, as well as the continuity between the mansion house and farm, was the presence of a garden, in the most important functions of a real park, on one side or all around it. Of course ranged the size and accuracy of the gardens, or parks, according to the disposable income of the family. Borromeo, Litta, Arese, Trivulzio, Brivio, Printing, to name a few, were certainly among the wealthiest families and their houses were often of beautiful gardens, but against these there was a whole system of small houses, or rather Small noble houses, with small garden often emphasized and enhanced by classic architectural systems, paving sought, scattered throughout the system that just was and remains today the osteological structure of the territory Altomilanese. The village of
Garbatola consisted of a series of farmhouses and two noble houses. The two noble houses were being developed around each of the two courts, a rustic shelter for animals and massari, and an elegant, decorated with arches and columns made of granite. Both on their eastern side bordered garden. One was dismembered, split and divided up from the first post-war period, the other was dismantled in 1930 and transformed into the Piazza Don Musa. In every era
Cassina Borromeo were founded or resettled, a number of speakers, small churches for the farming community. They were simple buildings, bare or very ornate, consisting of three compartments: a first compartment for the faithful often square, a second smaller room which was the chapel to the altar, a third compartment adjacent to it, left or right and with that communicates directly to the sacristy. Adjacent to one of the two noble houses, formerly owned by Crivelli and then Salvioni, on the border with the current and the current via Isonzo Piazza Don Musa was built around 1615 the small Oratory of Saint Blaise and Francis.

From the descriptions of the bishops in pastoral visit to the farm Garbatola shows that the front and on the north side of the little church had placed the cemetery of the village. Cemetery but was dismantled in the nineteenth century and converted the first of the old town square. On the map of land LombardoVeneto marked with the letter A is the Oratory of St. Francis, who overlooked the fact that it was once the cemetery of the village, and which is identified with the letter B, "Piazza said on the oratory."

In 1905, the ancient oratory, became too small, was abandoned and north of that in a free land was built the present church of San Francesco and San Sebastian. It did not have a real square, it was dismantled in 1930, a piece of the garden of the second noble house, which once housed the headquarters of the community garbatolese were planted two large trees still standing today, was erected a monument to the fallen and was thus built a new square, orthogonal to the first.

The square today is Don Musa therefore the result of a series of successive transformations and projects.
Act on the streets today is certainly one of the most difficult and interesting together. Design a square for the Garbatola today means first confronted with the past and the memory of the village, on the other to rethink the focus of a community that needs to be recognized in a public place shared.

Just to continue the controversy, recall that the jury has given us virtually zero points for knowledge of the place. On the other hand in the drafting of the call I was called by the municipal offices, on behalf of the manager S. Morley, to ask if I put at the disposal of historical material and mapping to all competitors ... how sad.

Invader Zim Shower Curtens

Created a few years ago from an idea of a person very dear to me, you could say my girlfriend at the time, this blog just part with the idea of collecting a series of written and scrittini, once Elzevir would have said, to make them available to everyone. Writings on architecture, works of criticism, political writings, but above all the research papers. A search of course once again very personal and tailor those are my personal interests.

In time then I saw, and I was very happy about this, that this space has become a meeting place, a place where not only many of my fellow architects, many students, many friends, stopping for a few minutes, but also many politicians and local administrators - who knows what they understood, at least those I know, as they have no never even once put into practice what I wrote, indeed have always behaved exactly the opposite -. In any case, this continues to remain a private space, a private but open to everyone, where everyone can participate and cooperate in research, just as was the design of the square of my country: a work of many. A people's house, or a study of people, heheh, a utopia? Perhaps, but at least anywhere there is granted.

you do two recent examples of yesterday, is this space yesterday in Milan, where I was to work, I stopped an architect, and when I presented "Praveen architect" she once told me " but what of the blog? Cute ..."; or this morning a student of the Faculty of Architecture at the second year, crossed by mistake on my web scrittino, appeared in the studio for a chat and ask for advice on his research. This workshop is architecture, a laboratory of ideas. Certainly not an area of municipal condemnation of wrongdoing, but of course, certainly not an area of criticism of my dear left, also of course; certainly not a political but a space for politicians.

on politics, instead, well ... I'm thinking, I'm seriously thinking that is to return after a few years, get it in first person, of course with his heart on the left but do not identify with anyone, and I repeat none, of current directors or managers. Furthermore, the Boers did well ...

How Long Do I Do Zumba Before I See Resuls

Competition for center Garbatola (part 1)

Shameless and indeed with great pride, we present these three or four episodes in our project (and my group of friends) to the square of Garbatola (the village where I live). Study for many years that a square, a square for which I wrote articles and publications, a square which was the subject of university studies, both in the restoration laboratories that design to which I have participated over the years, a square in the middle of a very special story that we hope will soon see the light in a book, the story of the ancient church of S. Biagio you and Francesco.

Without shame though because we think it has come third last project is a good project. Certainly a project with many limitations and attacked from many points of view (even though we had an old expert and technical issues of red tape among us, in addition to being a connoisseur of reality where you put the project), but also undoubtedly serious project, a project with a strong foundation, sinking its roots in research and hope that one day this research is actually used, a real project and frank, not a fiction. Last night, Walter Veltroni, by Santoro, said that "this government considers culture a nuisance," Well, dear Walter, not just this government but all governments, whether right or left side by a ruling class that you in a corner to study, then, when you're done and it's time of reckoning, he will not listen and can not appreciate all this research!

Can 'be the first real project for a fascist country since only a matter of taste?
can but judge you, my research and our project, take the minimum points "know the place?
short, ricriminazioni the merits aside, I, and architects with my friends with whom I worked, but not only architects, but other friends of civil society, the technicians and all those who have given us a hand, and are many, we believe that our show is a good project, but also a serious project for serious urban renewal. A project that is not limited to a few actions, but trying to understand the reality and try to change it together! A project that could be the engine for a true renewal and never will be. Thank you all, hope you enjoy your time to follow, comments, etc.. I think not always happen that an architect is available to this I rather like to play around. Thank you all.

1. The countryside and the urban center

There is a great, great, the difference between Piazza Italia Tuscan Emilian, or those of the Renaissance towns of Lombardy, which is right at the first reference and a good relationship with them, and those villages dell'altomilanese rural, and not just a difference of composition, or architectural, but it is a profound difference, a structural difference and if we are culturally.
These villages were not and are composed of large single-family homes, or multi-family lodges, mansions or palaces juxtaposed to each other and organized around a square, but by a set of rural courts, which aggregate together form what is called Cassine. Le Cascine were a number of residences for farmers that are constructed around a threshing floor and opposing the other side of the yard, the stables and barns for livestock. These were often put together one or two villas, consisting of a more complex system of short, short, rustic noble courts and private gardens. Just adjacent to these, or in the middle of regular aid, in any case usually the center of the village, there was usually a small church that serves the residents of the community. They are perfect examples of the system of farm-villa Castellazzo of the bubble, or Arconati Villa, Villa Borromeo Litta- Lainate, the Castellazzo of Rho, and so on. In these villages there was the square, the square was the threshing floor.

Then there is a reason and as social and economic culture that has hindered the formation of the "Italian Piazza" in the rural villages of north of Milan: Cassina was in fact a complex system made up of labor, farming and made a few families and so much humanity, much of the life of the people who lived in Cassine took place at work in the fields, or in the great private and public together, the court, which represented the center of daily life. "The Lombard farmhouse is the first unit in Lombardy court imposed a" necessity "intrinsic people: work. A farm itself apart from each other in a reasonable measure, implies that when the power of labor as it can fulfill a working farm family, or group of family gathered into the expanse of the bottom. "
And so it is easier to try to find a similarity between the courts, including the large farms and farmyards of the squares Central Italy, made of rich palaces of loggias and porches that surround the space of the square, rather than between them and the squares , or should I say the spaces that have formed over time, almost cut between the various courts and rustic nobles who formed the Cassina. Spaces severe, unadorned spaces closed spaces, often random. So we could say that the real places, understood as the Renaissance and humanist, in rural villages of northern Milan are the interiors of the courts, regular spaces, often square, built and structured with an iron logic, with long walkways, stairs in the corners and large internal arcades.

Most Valuable Tech Deck

's time to change!

Dear

resume writing after a long long time. A long pause for reflection, study, hard work.
I start writing because I'm tired of this chaotic and unprepared for the ruling class, tired of these screamers television and quest'incapacità rampant at all levels.
I start writing now because I'm skeptical about everything, I no longer trust anything or anyone, except a few friends and the few who still believe that something can be done. I start to write because it's amazing how in this country do not count no more research. You studied, you're studying, you're searching for years for certain subjects, well do not care to anyone! Certainly not to private citizens, almost all imbesuiti in front of the television mediocrity, not to administrators or politicians, too, taken by their delusions of power and their quarrels. Sucks.
I'm going to write because I'm tired of hanging there looking to try and see if anything changes. No changes nothing.

Why today? Why now finally a committee formed by three unknown read, after five months!, Read the verdict of a competition - possible that it takes five months to judge a project? imagine if at the university, other place that does not shine for efficiency, a boy delivering a job today and take a vote of five months, do not kick up a fuss? - For the redevelopment of the square where I live. A square on which I wrote newspaper articles, which conducts research in 2007, on which we had to do university work, a square, then, that not later than a few years ago, Mr. Mayor promised solemnly that he would done in four to publish this research. Nothing recent. Last? Are you kidding? No, no ... past. Virtually zero points as knowledge of the place. No, you can not ... Yes, yes. I do not know whether to laugh or cry. He won an innovative project? A project that revolutionizes a country, or who knows him from her womb? No, he won a mediocre design and ingegneresco, which touches almost nothing and leaves everything as it is, touches the old monument, does not touch the old fountain, do not touch the trees, even under the old and battered, not even touching anything the churchyard, if you can call it, the present church is wrong and the names of the ancient church - of which nobody knows except for the existence My antemprima some article of the book that never see the light -. How is that possible? How is it possible that three jurors who have spent five months to judge a project did not take account of all this?

So what? We must believe in more contests? We no longer have to study? We no longer do research? Or do we finally rise up and take what belongs to us, finally sent home, once and for all, this ruling class, those incapable politicians who sit on city councils for a handful of votes, and hope that you can finally rebuild an Italy fairer, more meritocratic, less favoleggiante, more honest, more rigorous, less and less intrallazzona double agent, clearer! An Italy where if a ruling class convinces a boy, his son, led him to study and then, when man is now at the highest level of education, it does not good to keep it in a corner, but I do use it and then and then listen ...
Time to change we must return to Italy that used to be researchers, intellectuals, thinkers, that Italy's great that they grew and developed in all the arts and crafts and Italy at this mediocre. We must fight ends soon because this dark time of the puppets of the party, officials from the mediocre and sad gray jacket, and restart the time of research, development of listening, why not ...
